"In a city filled with political upheaval, an amazing figure rose from the struggle a paragon among her people. Strong and silent, beautiful and wise, this benevolent being-"
The Interviewer dropped her pen and turned off the digital recorder. "Please tell me you are joking," The Interviewer said. "Is this really what you want to use as your biography on your author page?"
"What's wrong with it?" RB asked perplexed.
"It's a work of fiction."
"I write fiction."
"And I write nonfiction. So tell me about the real you and not the pretend concoction you have created."
RB pouted and slouched onto the couch. "But the real me is boring. Average person with an average day job and an average daily life."
The Interviewer snorted and then said, "Average? Believe me, I've meet no average person. No two humans are alike, so average does not exist. Tell me about you."
RB sighed and leaned her head back on the cushions wondering where to begin and where to end. What would people want to know that she didn't mind giving up? "I'm a pretty private person. I don't like people in my business. If that makes me seem cold or anti-social, so be it. I just... But I'll give you what I can. I was born and raised in North Carolina. But I now live in Virginia. I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration however, I've always loved to write."
The Interviewer picked up her pen and began to write. "Why not an English degree or study journalism?"
RB shrugged. "Long story short, I honestly didn't think about making writing a career. I always wrote for my own enjoyment, nothing more. And then one day that changed. I saw my brother struggle at what he loved and I thought... Why can't I do that?" RB laughed thinking back, "If I knew how hard self-publishing can be, I would have probably not tried. Yet, I don't regret it. I'm glad I did it and I want to continue."
The Interviewer looked up from her notebook and asked, "So you will continue to write? And publish?"
RB nodded and grinned happily. "Though I've had a couple of set backs, I still have so much I want to write. And there are a lot of stories I want to share with the world. While I may not be as productive as some of the other authors in the world, I still plan to do what I can."
"Can you tell me what you are working on now?"
Lifting an eyebrow, RB shook her head. "I can...but you'll have to wait like everyone else." Then she laughed wickedly, sending chills up the Interviewer's spine.
